Suspect killed in Counter-Strike and Stop-And-Frisk Operation

MOLAVE, Zamboanga del Sur (Aug. 27, 2018) – The suspect was killed during the conduct of Police Counter-Strike and Stop-and-Frisk operation in Molave municipality of this province, police official said.

Police Regional Office 9 PIO Chief PCINSP Helen L. Galvez disclosed that the operating troops were composed of the combined elements of 902nd Mobile Company of RMFB9, Regional Intelligence Division 9, Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Intelligence Branch and Molave Municipal Police Station conducted the said operation at Rizal Avenue, Barangay Madasigun, Molave Municipality Saturday, Aug. 25 at around 4pm.

Galvez said that during the conduct of the said stop-and-frisk against an identified gun-for hire personality fully known as Anito Gengson Gungob @ "Cito", the latter suddenly drew his concealed .38 revolver purposing to aim the same against police which prompted some members of the operating team to take a shot at the hostile subject which eventually resulted to his death.

Galvez added that the subject is believed to be responsible in some shooting and robbery incidents in the neighboring province of Zamboang Del Norte and Zamboanga Del Sur areas. (By JONG CADION)

1 person killed in Shooting Incident

MOLAVE, Zamboanga del Sur (Aug.23, 2018) - Shooting incident transpired at Barangay Culo, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur at about 7:45 P.M. of August 21, 2018 in front at the billiard hall owned by the victim identified as Rogelio “Gaga” Postrero Hilot, 47 years old, married, resident of Barangay Culo, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur.

According to the bystanders that two unidentified suspects wearing black jackets on board on a black Honda XRM suddenly stop on where the said victim Rogelio was standing a meter away from him and shoot him with a caliber 45 handgun that hit him at the right shoulder and passed through the left side of his chest.

Bystanders who happened to be relatives of the victim reacted and threw stones to the culprit but the shoot another round to them. Culprit on board on their motorcycle fled away from the crime scene going to Dungoan, Barangay Mabuhay, Molave Zamboanga del Sur.

The Victim was immediately brought to the Blancia Hospital, located at Barangay Blancia, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur but upon arrival at around 7:55pm the same date victim was declared dead on arrival.

The responding police recovered at the crime scene are two empty shells of ammunition, one (1) slug, and one ammunition of caliber 45. Investigator on case is PO1 Prildem R Fajardo CP No. 09121902323.

RA 9262 Violator Arrested in Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur

MOLAVE, Zamboanga del Sur (Aug.17, 2018) – The PNP personnel of Molave Municipal Police Station conducted manhunt operation at Magsaysay Street, Barangay Culo, Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 8:30 AM of August 15, 2018.

The operation was resulted to the successful arrest of Adelo Sumalpong Y Villegas, 30 years old, married, collector and resident of Magsaysay St., Culo, Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The accused was arrested by the virtue of alias warrant for the crime of Violence Against Women and Children or RA 9262 with Crimanal Case Number 2017-10-3432 issued by Hon. Judge Jaime B. Caberte, Presiding Judge, RTC, Branch 23, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur dated June 18, 2018 with a bail bond of Twenty four thousand (P24,000.00) pesos.

The arrested subject person is now under the custody of Molave MPS for proper disposition.

Fire Incident

MOLAVE, Zamboanga del Sur (Aug.14, 2018) - Fire incident took place at the corner of Rizal Avenue and Yangco Street, Brgy Makuguihon, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur at about 11:00 AM of August 11, 2018.

The two story house/building owned by the late Judge Glicerio Cariaga of Ozamiz City was burned at about 10:45 AM of same date.

The PNP personnel secured the traffic and motorist along Yangco St and Rizal Avenue, Fire trucks coming from Jollibee, YM, and Molave BFP helped each other in extinguishing the fire. 

Initial Investigation disclosed that the building was already left abandoned by the care taker Amelie Quimson Livestre since it was already dilapidated, since it was very old having been built in the 70’s and made of wood and light materials. No one was reported harmed in the said fire incident. The estimated cost of damage is not more than fifty-thousand pesos (P50, 000.00).

Shooting Incident

MOLAVE, Zamboanga del Sur (Aug.14, 2-18) - Shooting incident transpired at Purok New Society, Culo, Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 7:48 PM of August 11, 2018.

The victim was identified as Manolo Maglasang Cimacio, male, 52 years old, single, farmer and resident of Purok New Society, Culo, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur. The victim was already brought by his relatives to Blancia Hospital, Brgy. Blancia, Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur for medical treatment.

Initial investigation disclosed that the said victim at about 7:30 P.M. was inside the Cimacio Store at Purok New Society, Culo, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur where he is usually living and sleeping when someone called.

In that instant, the said victim approached the door however he was suddenly shot several times by the unidentified gunman. The victim tried to run for cover towards the kitchen area where he fell down.

The suspects after the shooting fled away by riding a get-away motorcycle towards the municipality of Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur. The relatives of the victim who stayed near the store immediately after the shooting came and brought the victim to Blancia Hospital. Due to seriousness of the gunshot wounds (6 entrance/exit GSW on the stomach and back of the body), the victim was then transferred and brought to Emergency Hospital, Ozamiz City.

During ocular investigation in the crime scene, the PNP teams recovered five empty shells of Caliber .45 firearm outside the store and about less than a meter away from the entrance door of the store.

Recovered in the crime scene were a slug and another slug recovered from the body of the victim while in Blancia Hospital believed both also to be from Caliber .45 firearms.

Motive of the incident believed to be personal grudge. This station is now conducting thorough investigation about the shooting incident for possible identification of the perpetrators. Investigator on case is SPO2 Reynaldo D Hilot CP No. 09109691613.
